This version of the Sting is brand new for 2011. Flexifoil have re-designed the whole kite and given it a new canopy shape. The Sting now provides even more solid power with steady, manageable acceleration. Flexifoil have incorporated a new leading edge gauze mesh which helps prevent the kite folding or folding - it remains stable and under control even in difficult gusty conditions.
You don't need to worry about relaunching, either - with a simple one handle movement, the kite flips back to upright position and can be launched smoothly and quickly. And it's safe in high wind conditions - tested by Flexifoil in winds of over 50mph, the Sting stayed under control (flown by an experienced kite flier and with upgraded lines - we recommend beginners fly in much lower wind speeds).
The Sting is great fun in its own right, but is also a good training kite, enabling beginners to build their skill level before moving on to more powerful traction kites, such as the Rage. This 1.7m version of the Sting is not really designed for traction kiting (although in windy conditions and with a light flier, it is possible), but is the ideal starting point on the road to becoming a traction kiter.
