The 1.7m version of the Sting is designed as a power kite only - it is a little too small for traction kiting, although this is possible in very windy conditions and with a smaller and lighter flier - this kite is ideal for those learning the necessary skills while working their way up to traction kiting.
This version of the Sting is brand new for 2011. Flexifoil have re-designed the whole kite and given it a new canopy shape. The Sting now provides even more solid power with steady, manageable acceleration. Flexifoil have incorporated a new leading edge gauze mesh which helps prevent the kite folding or folding - it remains stable and under control even in difficult gusty conditions.
You don't need to worry about relaunching, either - with a simple one handle movement, the kite flips back to upright position and can be launched smoothly and quickly. And it's safe in high wind conditions - tested by Flexifoil in winds of over 50mph, the Sting stayed under control (flown by an experienced kite flier and with upgraded lines - we recommend beginners fly in much lower wind speeds).
