Like most of Gorilla Grip's deck pads, the Kai pad features their Diamond Groove III high density foam. The pattern is deep and widely spaced to give you extra grip and drive through sharp turns. This is a 3-piece pad.
The rear wedge is a steep block which again, helps you really jam your foot against it for extra drive, while the edges are tapered to reduce drag through the tail.
Through the middle section of the pad, there is a 3-D tapered delta shaped arch. This shape is designed to lock the foot into the back of the pad for hard turning, whereas there is more sensitivity at the front when the foot is further forward in a trimming postition.
